In Cantabria, the application of late fees and interest for delayed rent is governed by the principles of contractual freedom within the limits set by the Ley de Arrendamientos Urbanos (LAU) and the Spanish Civil Code. Rent Payment Deadlines
According to Article 17 of the LAU, unless otherwise agreed, rent payment should be made within the first seven days of each month.
