The Recent Activity Feed (Audit Trail)
How to use the Recent Activity Feed on the dashboard to track operational history, monitor potential employee errors, and maintain a secure audit trail.
Property management involves constant data changes: rent is paid, leases are signed, work orders are closed, and units become vacant.
To help you keep track of this chaotic flow of information, the bottom of your Main Dashboard features the Recent Activity Feed.
What is the Activity Feed?
The Activity Feed is a chronologically ordered, highly secure audit trail of nearly every action taken inside your Landager account.
For every major event, the system logs:
- What happened (e.g., "Manual Payment Logged")
- When it happened (Exact Date and Timestamp)
- Who it involved (e.g., "Sarah Smith - Unit 4B")
What Operations are Logged?
The system automatically writes a log entry for critical operational workflows, including:
Financial Actions
- A new Rent Payment is logged.
- An Expense receipt is uploaded.
- A Payment status is changed from Pending to Completed.
Contractual Actions
- A new Lease is created.
- A Lease is modified or terminated.
- A Lease document PDF is uploaded.
Operational Actions
- A new Property or Unit is created.
- A Maintenance Request is submitted.
- A Maintenance Request status is marked "Completed".
- A unit condition photo is uploaded.
Why the Audit Trail Matters
While it might seem like a simple list, the Activity Feed is actually a vital management and security tool.
- Spotting Data Entry Errors: If you log in on Tuesday morning and the Recent Activity Feed says "Lease Terminated - Unit 2A," but you didn't approve an eviction for Unit 2A, you immediately know an error was made and you can investigate instantly.
- Reviewing the Day: If you employ a leasing agent to run Landager for you, you can log in at 5:00 PM and scroll the feed to essentially read a report of exactly what they accomplished that day.
- Dispute Arbitration: If a tenant claims, "I handed the manager my rent check on the 2nd," you can check the logs to see exactly what time that payment was manually entered into the system.
