While the PDF export is designed for presentation, the Excel export is designed for manipulation. Use this when you need to run your own formulas, create pivot tables, or import data into external accounting software.

How to Generate an Excel Export

  1. Navigate to your Main Dashboard.
  2. Locate the Export Reports quick-action card.
  3. Click on the data category you want to export (e.g., "Rent & Leases", "Expenses", "Maintenance").
  4. Select "Excel" as the format.
  5. Your browser will instantly download an .xlsx file.

What Data is Included?

The Excel export contains the same comprehensive raw data as the PDF, but structured in tabular form with individual columns for every data field:

  • Property Name, Unit Number, Tenant Name
  • Lease Start Date, Lease End Date, Rent Amount
  • Payment Amount, Payment Date, Payment Method, Payment Status
  • Expense Amount, Expense Date, Vendor Name
  • Maintenance Priority, Status, Estimated Cost, Actual Cost

Best Use Cases for Excel Exports

1. Custom Financial Modeling

Import the data into your own spreadsheets to calculate metrics Landager doesn't natively track, such as net operating income (NOI) per property or cap rate calculations.

2. QuickBooks / Xero Integration

Many accountants prefer to work in their own software. Export your Landager data to Excel and import it into QuickBooks, Xero, or FreshBooks for centralized bookkeeping.

3. Year-End Tax Tabulation

At the end of the fiscal year, export all expenses, sort and sum by category, and calculate your Schedule E deductions in minutes instead of hours.

4. Portfolio Comparison

If you manage properties across multiple Landager accounts (e.g., one per LLC), export each account's data and combine the spreadsheets to compare performance across your entire empire.

Data Integrity Note

[!TIP] The Excel export is a snapshot of the moment you clicked "Download." Any changes made to your dashboard after the export will not appear in the downloaded file. For an updated version, simply export again.
