How to Reset a Forgotten Password (OTP Verification)

Landager uses OTP (One-Time Password) email verification to confirm your identity before allowing a password change. This ensures only someone with access to your registered email can reset your credentials.
Step-by-Step Password Reset
Step 1: Start the Reset
- Navigate to the Login page.
- Click the "Forgot Password" link below the sign-in form.
Step 2: Enter Your Email
- Enter the email address you used when creating your Landager account.
- Click "Send Reset Code" (or equivalent button).
- Check your email inbox for a message from Landager containing your OTP.
[!TIP] If you don't see the email, check your Spam or Junk folder. The email may take a minute to arrive depending on your email provider.
Step 3: Verify the OTP
- Enter the OTP code from the email into the verification field.
- The OTP is time-limited — you must enter it before it expires.
- If the OTP expires, you can request a new one by restarting the process.
Step 4: Set a New Password
- After successful OTP verification, you'll be prompted to create a new password.
- Choose a strong password (at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols).
- Confirm the new password.
- Click Save — your password is updated and you can now sign in with the new credentials.
Important Notes
- OTP codes are single-use: Each code can only be used once. If you enter it incorrectly, request a new one.
- OTP codes expire: For security, codes are only valid for a limited time window.
- Google OAuth users: If you signed up with Google, you don't have a Landager password. Use the Google Sign-In button instead. To reset your Google password, use Google's own account recovery process.
- Password is hashed securely: Your new password is hashed with bcrypt before storage. Learn more in How Landager Stores Passwords Securely.

If you're not receiving the OTP email or encountering other issues:
- Double-check that you're entering the correct email address.
- Check all email folders including Spam, Junk, and Promotions.
- Wait a few minutes and try again.
- If problems persist, contact the Landager team by emailing support directly.
