Tenant screening in Landager is a built-in feature that lets landlords collect and review applicant information before signing a lease. Unlike traditional property management tools that require paid third-party add-ons, Landager includes screening on every plan, including the free Starter plan.

How It Works

Screening is fully integrated but independent of tenant creation. From your dashboard, you can request a screening for any applicant:

  1. Send the Invite: Click "Request Screening" on the Tenants page, enter the applicant's name and email, and choose the documents you require.
  2. Tenant Verification: The applicant receives a secure, one-time link and verifies their email via a 6-digit OTP code.
  3. Information Collection: The applicant fills out a comprehensive, mobile-friendly form and uploads the necessary documents.
  4. Landlord Review: The application appears in your Screening Applications tab. You can review the details, request resubmissions if documents are missing, and ultimately approve or reject the applicant. Approving automatically creates a tenant profile for them.

Key Benefits

  • No third-party costs: Screening is included at no extra charge on all plans.
  • Secure by design: One-time links prevent unauthorized access; OTP verification confirms identity.
  • No tenant account needed: Tenants complete the form without creating a Landager account.
  • Multilingual: The screening form is available in all 34 supported languages.
  • Mobile-friendly: Applicants can complete the form and snap photos of documents straight from their mobile devices.
  • Integrated Workflow: Approving a screening seamlessly turns an applicant into a formal tenant in one click.

What Information Is Collected?

The screening form collects:

  • Personal information (name, date of birth, nationality, phone, address)
  • Identity document (passport, national ID, residence permit, or driver's license)
  • Employment and income details
  • Previous landlord references
  • Additional details (move-in date, number of occupants, pets)
  • Supporting documents (ID scans, income proof, references)
