Editing Property Details
How to update a property's name, address, notes, or property type after it has been created using the Landager Property Detail view.
Mistakes happen during data entry. If you misspell a street name or need to update the private notes for a specific building, Landager makes it simple to edit existing properties.
How to Edit a Property
Editing a property modifies its core "shell" details — not the units or tenants inside it.
- Navigate to the Properties list.
- Click on the property you want to modify to open its Detail View.
- In the top right corner of the header card, click the three dots (Action Menu).
- Select "Edit".
- The original creation form will appear, pre-filled with the current data.
What You Can Change
You maintain full control over the property record. You can update:
- Property Name
- Full Address
- Property Type (e.g., changing from Single Family to Multi Unit)
- Total Units count (the intended capacity)
- Private Notes
Important Considerations
- Updating the Name: Changing the property name will immediately update how it appears across all linked Units, Leases, and Expense records. The change is global.
- Updating the Total Units: Changing this number does not automatically create or delete the actual, physical Unit records inside the property. It only changes the stated building capacity. If you change a duplex's intended capacity from 2 to 3, you must still manually Add a Unit to the property.
- Notes Security: As a reminder, any text stored in the "Notes" field remains completely private to you. Tenants cannot see these notes on their portal or invoices.
After making your changes, simply click "Save Changes". The updates are applied instantly.
