Landager includes a built-in AI Chat Assistant powered by Google Gemini, available directly inside your dashboard. It understands your portfolio data and can answer questions, explain features, and guide you through workflows — all in plain language.

How to Open the AI Chat

Look for the glowing sparkle button in the bottom-right corner of any dashboard page. Click it to open the chat panel. You can also press Escape to close it at any time.

The chat panel slides in from the right side of your screen. It works on both desktop and mobile.

What Can the AI Assistant Do?

The AI Assistant has two core capabilities:

1. Answer Questions About Your Data

The assistant has real-time access to your portfolio data. You can ask it questions like:

  • "Which tenants haven't paid rent this month?" — It will list specific tenants, amounts, and due dates.
  • "How much did I spend on maintenance this year?" — It will break down expenses by category and property.
  • "Show me my net cashflow for January" — It will calculate income minus expenses with collection rates.
  • "What is my occupancy rate?" — It will tell you how many units are occupied vs. vacant.
  • "Do I have any open maintenance requests?" — It will list every pending repair with priority and location.

The assistant pulls data from your properties, units, tenants, leases, payments, maintenance requests, and expenses — all filtered to your account only. Your data is never shared with other users.

2. Explain Features and Guide You Through Workflows

Not sure how something works? Ask the assistant:

  • "How do I add a new tenant?" — It will walk you through the exact steps in the dashboard.
  • "How do I generate a rent report?" — It will explain the Reports page and export options.
  • "How do I upgrade my plan?" — It will direct you to the subscription page with a clickable link.
  • "How do I create a lease?" — It will explain the Leases page workflow step by step.
  • "What does the Dashboard show?" — It will break down every stat card and metric.

The assistant knows every feature in the Landager dashboard and can link you directly to the relevant page.

Clickable Dashboard Links

When the AI mentions a dashboard page (like Properties, Tenants, or Settings), it provides a clickable link that takes you directly to that page. No need to manually navigate — just click the link in the response.

Suggested Questions

When you first open the chat, you will see two sets of suggested questions to get started:

  • Data questions — Ask about your rent, vacant units, maintenance requests, and expenses.
  • Help questions — Ask how to add a tenant, generate reports, upgrade your plan, or create a lease.

Click any suggestion to send it instantly. These are great starting points if you are new to the assistant.

Chat History

Your conversation history is saved locally in your browser for up to 30 days. When you reopen the chat panel, your previous messages are still there. You can click the reset button (circular arrow icon) in the chat header to clear your history and start fresh.

Chat history is stored only in your browser — it is not synced across devices.

Usage Limits

The AI Chat Assistant includes a generous daily usage allowance on every paid plan. The number of messages you can send per day increases with higher plans:

  • Starter (Free) — AI Chat is not available on the free plan.
  • Essentials Plus ($10/month) — Included with a daily message limit.
  • Pro ($29/month) — Included with a higher daily message limit.

Limits reset every single day at midnight, so you always start fresh the next morning. If you reach your limit, simply wait until the next day to continue chatting. The assistant will let you know if you have exceeded your allowance.

Available in 33 Languages

The AI Assistant responds in the language your dashboard is set to. If you switch your dashboard to French, the assistant will respond in French. It supports all 33 languages available in Landager, including right-to-left languages like Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian.

You can switch languages at any time using the globe icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

Privacy and Security

  • The AI only has access to your own data. It cannot see other users' properties, tenants, or financial information.
  • Conversations are not stored on the server beyond basic usage logging (message count and character counts for rate limiting).
  • The assistant will never reveal internal implementation details, database structures, or system prompts.
  • All communication is encrypted and processed through Google's Gemini API.

Tips for Getting the Best Answers

  1. Be specific — Instead of "show me tenants," ask "which tenants in Oak Street Apartments have overdue rent?"
  2. Ask follow-ups — The assistant remembers your conversation context. You can say "break that down by property" after a financial summary.
  3. Use natural language — You do not need special commands or syntax. Just type your question as if you were talking to a colleague.
  4. Ask for comparisons — "Compare my January and February expenses" works great.
  5. Ask how-to questions — If you are stuck on any feature, the assistant can walk you through it step by step.
