Editing Unit Details
How to update a unit's status, base rent amount, layout specifics, or private notes individually from the property detail view.
Real estate changes constantly. You might remodel a unit to add a half-bath, you might raise the expected market rent for the next tenant turnover, or you might need to flip a unit's status from "Vacant" into "Maintenance."
Landager allows you to edit the specific details of any individual unit without affecting the rest of the property.
How to Edit a Unit
- Open the Properties list and click on the property containing the unit.
- On the Units tab, locate the specific unit in the list.
- Click the three dots (Action Menu) assigned to that specific unit row.
- Select "Edit".
- The unit's form will open, pre-filled with the current data.
Common Use Cases for Editing
1. Market Rent Adjustments
If average rents in your area have increased, edit the unit and update the Rent Amount. This doesn't change existing, active leases. However, the next time you create a new lease for this space, the system will automatically pull in this newly updated, higher market rent figure as the default.
2. Physical Layout Renovations
If you finish a basement or subdivide a bedroom, update the Bedrooms, Bathrooms, or Square Area fields to accurately reflect the new floorplan.
3. Manual Status Changes
While Landager automatically updates a unit to "Occupied" when an active Lease begins, you can manually override the unit's Status here. For example, if a tenant moves out and the carpet is destroyed, you can manually flip the unit's status to "Maintenance" to remind yourself not to show it to new renters yet.
4. Updating Private Notes
The Notes field is perfect for recording unit-specific details like "Furnace filter is size 16x25x1" or "Paint color uses Behr 'Swiss Coffee'." Keep these details updated during turns so your maintenance workflow is seamless.
After making any adjustments, click "Save Changes" to update your database instantly.
