Ġurisdizzjoni tal-Bord li Jirregola l-Kiri (RRB)
Il-Bord li Jirregola l-Kiri huwa l-uniku korp bl-awtorità li jordna lil kerrej biex joħroġ minn proprjetà. Kwalunkwe miżura ta' "self-help", bħal tibdil ta' serraturi, qtugħ ta' servizzi, jew tneħħija ta' affarijiet tal-kerrej, huma illegali u jistgħu jwasslu għal akkużi kriminali u danni ċivili.
Terminazzjoni għal Nuqqas ta' Tiġdid
For a standard long lease, if the landlord does not wish to renew the lease at the end of its term, they must:
- Send a registered letter to the tenant.
- Ensure the letter is sent at least 3 months prior to the expiry date. If this notice is not given, the lease automatically renews for another year.
Terminazzjoni għal Ksur (Żgumbrament)
A landlord can file for eviction before the RRB if the tenant:
- Is in arrears for at least two (2) months.
- Has breached a fundamental condition of the lease.
- Is using the property for purposes other than residential.
